Mr. Sot Suo (Kemsour)
Founder and Managing Co-Director
Mr. Sot Kemsour is the ‘Man with the Dream’ and the drive to turn his dream into a reality.  Kemsour was born in 1981, one of eight children, and the son of the chief of the village. At the age of 12, Kemsour began public primary school, and completed high school in 2004.  He attended Japanese classes before school and English classes after school at a Christian volunteer organisation and is now fluent in Japanese, Thai, English and Khmer. In 2004, upon graduating High School, Kemsour won a scholarship to BBU University. He and his wife, Srey Mom, are now blessed with a young son, Sokong, and are expecting their second child. Ms. Kerry Huntly
Co-Director
Ms. Kerry Huntly is an Australian citizen who met Kemsour by chance whilst in Siem Reap doing volunteer work. After spending time with residents of Mondul 3 village, she realised how dire the conditions really were, and so has extended her stay in Cambodia indefinitely.  Kerry and Kemsour worked tirelessly to establish and register the Centre, and she now resides in the New Hope Shelter for abused women and children. She is responsible for the management and daily operations of the Centre. Please feel free to contact Kerry for further information at

Mr. Tith Poeuy

Manager of Education
Mr. Tith Poeuy is a dedicated and valued member of our team. Poeuy teaches Khmer Education and English Language for our more advanced students. He also supervises our resident language teachers and supports our Volunteer English Language Teachers. 





   

Ms. Seak Lia 
Khmer & English Teacher
Ms. Seak Lia is a bright and bubbly little lady, who has the big responsibility of teaching our younger students. Lia is always ready to lend a hand, and has been a great support to all during the rapid growth of students and classes. 







Mr. Ran Sovean
Khmer & English Teacher
Mr. So teaches our newest and youngest students, both Khmer and English. He is a very experienced teacher, and brings to the classes an air of calm and expertise. Mr. So is very enthusiastic to see all children receive an education, and is excited to be able to give free education to these impoverished children.






Mr. Chea Rathana
Monk and Guidance Officer
We are privileged to have Mr. Rathana from the Wat Thmey Pagoda on our staff. Not only is his general presence at the centre very important, he also teaches Computer classes and is fluent in English. Mr. Rathana’s knowledge, values and wisdom have been an invaluable asset to our Centre.   







Doctor Seang Savuan
Doctor of Medicine
Dr. Savuan is our resident Doctor and Pharmacist. Savuan has served his country as an Army Doctor and has since furthered his studies at Phnom Penh. He has worked tirelessly to provide care and support for the large numbers of malnourished, sick and diseased families of Mondul 3 Village. Dr. Savuan plays a pivotal role in our Centre.






Ms. Sen Srey Mom
Cooking Teacher
Srey Mom has been employed by a leading Siem Reap 5 star Hotel as Head Chef for the past seven years. Srey Mom is also the wife of our Director Kemsour and has recently decided to take on the role of teaching cooking to our eager students of New Hope. Chefs in Cambodia are scarce and much sort after, so with Srey Mom’s expertise and tuition, our students look forward to many career opportunities in the future.





Ms. Seng Srey Oun
Head Sewing Teacher
Ms. Srey Oun is a professional Tailor and eager to pass on her craft to our students. Srey Oun donated her own sewing machine to New Hope, as her young daughter attends our Centre for education. Srey Oun is keen to see her students gain enough skill, so their crafts can be sold to market shops, a step towards New Hope becoming a self sustainable centre in the future.





Ms. Sok Srey Nate
Sewing Teacher
Ms. Srey Nate is another Mum of one of our students. She is also a well qualified Tailor and  teaches our afternoon students. Srey Nate is a dedicated and extremely patient lady and even though her classroom has extremely limited resources, she is keen to see her teenage and Karaoke worker students gain career opportunities in the future.
 





Ms. Pheak Romar
Make-up Artist and Hair Stylist
Ms. Roma is our resident teacher of Beauty and Hair styling. After gaining her qualifications in the capital, Phnom Penh, she now resides in Mondul 3. Not only have beauty classes this term proved extremely popular with our many female students, we have a long list of teenage boys waiting to commence her Hair Styling classes next term.   






Mr. Mirk Soginann
Wood/Stone Carver    
Mr. Mirk Soginann is a young man who has spent the last seven years studying the ancient Khmer craft of carving with Artisans de Angkor. With the sponsorship of New Hope, he now has his own workshop in Mondul 3 Village. Soginann passes on his knowledge and skills by teaching students both from the village and from outer rural areas, thus ensuring this valuable ancient craft is preserved. Soginann sells many pieces of his superb handwork to shops in Siem Reap, but also sells direct from his workshop at very reasonable prices. Mr. Nuek Vihreak
Security Guard
Mr. Vihreak’s work history is ex-army and security, and now provides regular security for our centre and shelter. We are located in the heart of a Red Light District, so Vihreak’s presence serves as a deterrent for any unsavory characters. Vihreak has four children attend our school and is hopeful they will receive the education he never had.    






Ms. Leat Srey Mom
Shelter House Mother
Srey Mom is our wonderful Shelter Mum. She is an excellent cook, fastidious housekeeper, and a great role model for the children. She has endless energy in organising the children for school, their activities and chores. Srey Mom also attends our English and Vocational classes.






Mr. Sao Heoung
Centre Care Taker
Mr. Heoung resides at our Centre, together with his wife and son Cedar, and is responsible for keys, opening and closing the Centre and general odd jobs. Heoung spent 18 years as a Monk, and then saw his family through the Pol Pot era. Heoung is a warm and caring old gentleman and sets a fine example of righteousness and morality to our staff and children.
