New Hope focuses on providing free education for the disadvantaged
children, youths and adults of Mondul 3 Village.

In December 2007, Kemsour our founder, employed two Khmer teachers, by paying them a wage from his own income as a tuk-tuk driver and started a class for locals in a small bamboo hut. By March 2008, Kerry had partnered up with Kemsour, and our student numbers then grew to 70. Kemsour and Kerry quickly realised the need to move to larger and more permanent premises, so they worked together to register New Hope Community Centre as an official Charity and NGO in April 2008, secure a major sponsor and lease and move to new premises.

More than 250 students now attend New Hope for:

· English & Khmer language lessons
· Vocational skills training for career opportunities
· Shelter and support for women and children
· Free medical treatment and medication for the families of Mondul 3
· Monthly food packages for 50 malnourished and sick families

Future Aims
Our long term goal is to ensure New Hope is self-sustainable:

· We have commenced selling handicrafts from our sewing room to the local markets and wish to expand the range of products we can sell.

· We are currently raising funds to commence our Fish Farm Project - excavation, fencing and two tones of fish. Fish in Cambodia is expensive, and therefore lucrative. We will supply fish to our poorest families and provide income for our Centre. We are hoping to acquire our own pick-up truck to ensure transport costs are kept to a minimum.

· Another of our future goals is to open a Bakery from our New Hope Kitchen and supply breads and pastries to Hotels.  Not only will this provide income for the Centre, but also more jobs for local village people and practical education for our students.
