Volunteering

Work with the World's Most Needy and Vulnerable, bring new hope and save lives.

New Hope Cambodia is a grass roots, hands on and Non Govt. Organisation and relies heavily on the support of volunteers to enable us to continue to provide humanitarian aid. We educate and train, provide medical care, food, community outreach, shelter for orphans, and assistance for sustainable development.

New Hope’s Volunteer Programme is designed for persons of all ages, singles, couples and families from all walks of life. The main qualifications are enthusiasm, commitment and a flexible attitude.

Our Community Centre provides classes each day for 350 students in English, Math, Computer, Moral Lesson, Sports, and Sewing. We are always in need of fluent English speaking volunteers to support our Khmer teachers in the classrooms with pronunciation, and thinking outside of the square.

We ask each volunteer to commit to either morning or afternoon classes, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of one week, although we would recommend two weeks, both for their benefit and ours. This schedule makes for an excellent mix for voluntourism, volunteering half day, and sightseeing the other. Longer term volunteers of one to three months are most desirable.

Our Helen Bonner Health Centre welcomes professionals such as Nurses, Dentists, Doctors or Opticians who would consider donating a day or two of their time (or a few weeks even better) to help some very poor and needy people. Our professional volunteers in the past have been rewarded with an overwhelming life changing experience in return.

This is an incredible opportunity for gifted professionals to selflessly serve the people of this world who need it most..

Our Community Outreach Programme provides opportunity for those of you who wish to volunteer in a Social Work capacity.  This area is both challenging and rewarding, but for obvious reasons we do ask for long term volunteers, with a one month minimum stay.

Our New Hope Farm provides opportunities for motivated persons with crop farming, fish farming, or chicken/egg farming skills. New Hope is anxious to find persons with knowledge of breeding chicks (incubators), as Cambodia has no such industry. Baby chickens need to be purchased from Vietnam or Thailand.

Visiting : If you do not have the time to volunteer, but would like to visit our Centre and meet our children, you are most welcome, but please call or email first so we can set up a suitable visiting time, and of course Donations greatly appreciated.
